THE F.R.E.S.H MEN (a letter from the boss)

Welcome to LIFE OF A HUSTLAH 718 where beats, rhymes, nite life and Lifestyle is all your going to see and hear happening on this site. We're dedicated to bringing you Hip Hop and R&B in it's truest, realest form. NO SIMON SAYS, SIMON PLAYS and DISPLAY over here. Change in the music industry is our #1 concern. The way music is being portrayed and distributed by major labels is causing a huge problem. The lack of skill, originality, talent and over all creativity is lost due to these labels greed for money causing artist to sell themselves not only short but themselves "period" Video channels plays what they feel they want viewers to see and not what we want. This is also being done by radio stations also that caused artist to go into promoting on their own hustling to make a name for themselves. Indie is the new Major and Major labels and other big companies are now trying to benefit and cash in on this by giving deals where they take credit for all the hard work you put out marketing, promoting and distributing on your own. Yes a major label stamp on your product looks good, but honestly how much do you really benefit at the end?
We call this this "PIMPING", where your the hoe and they're your "DADDY". When rocafella Records started they was indie distributed through first PAYDAY and then PRIORITY records. Each person (Jay, Dame and Biggs) were hustlers in their own way but they combined minds to think "BIG" and strategically present themselves as true bossess like Russell, Lyor, Kevin and L.A. Reid. Their "NO BS" and DEDICATION awarded them a deal of a lifetime allowing them to build an empire and also create other avenues to generate huge revenue (that's big money for you slow ones out there). 2 more big celebrity/CEO bosses also made it big and became household names and Forbes pick for the past 5 years Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs (he was much better when he was PUFFY) and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. Don't get it twisted there was others that made money and was doing it BIG and still is on the low like Percy "Master P" Miller, Nick Cannon, Andre "Dr. DRE" Young, Marshall "EMENIM" Matthers, O'shea "Ice Cube" Jackson and Duck Down Records crew Dru Ha and Buckshot of "Blackmoon". New artist was also able to duplicate and reformat some of the big name mentioned blueprint and capitalized off it in a major way (YMCMB, MMG, ROSTRUM, BRICKSQUAD and G.O.O.D Music). Dedication, hustle, promotion and having a team that supports you is the major key to making many levels of noise for your brand. MMG believed in the ole crew like Wutang, Bad Boy and Rocafella technique to make MMG an UNTOUCHABLE EMPIRE and brand. YMCMB used the mixtape circuit and appearances on everyone song as theirs, G.O.O. Music used GOOD music and sharp artist with sick wordplay as their tool to success, not to mention their leader is Kanye West (say no more). As F.R.E.S.H MEN in the game you have to know what you want, know what base your trying to target, build your brand and have a team to help you make your brand a name everyone want to hear and see. Some tend to follow the latest trend and it could be good and bad. It depends on how you flip it. Find you a producer who is willing to be loyal and dedicate their time helping you the (artist) or (company) build the brand like "PEPSI" or a MMG. It's going to take a minute unless you hit it lucky and a major get a hold of your material. Stay true to craft, don't give up your day job, set agendas that'll allow you to do both and benefit from it. Your friends and family will tell you that your the nicest but up the block, down the street, around the corner and in the next borough, city and state got to give you their approval too. Oh yeah Females is your biggest fans (family), dudes support but not like the females. Get the ladies attention and have them talking and your good as the rest.
Welcome to our blogspot enjoy what you see and hear and spread the word, Thanks......Mr. Jones
